Donate Equipment
We would be very grateful to recieve any computer donations! However, we want to make sure that these computers will last for a while in Uganda, so we ask that any donations made should follow as close as possible to these specifications:
Acceptable configurations for PCs - minimal requirements:
- Pentium IIIs (433 MHz) (we will sometimes accept Pentium IIs (333 MHz) if there is at least 512 MB of RAM with the PC)
- 6 – 30 GB hard drives
- 256MB RAM (memory)
- at least 1 USB port
- Onboard Video (SVGA)
- Onboard Ethernet (a PCI NIC is fine too)
- Onboard microphone input and speaker output connections
In short, all we ask of PCs is that they are capable of running Windows 2000, Office 98 / Office XP, Bruce’s typing tutor, African Encarta, Partners In Learning, Internet Explorer 6.
We also need 15" color monitors (supporting 240V electricity), keyboards, mice, and spare computer parts like hard drives (at least 6 GB), and RAM.
If you have any equipment which you would like to donate, please email us.
Thank you very much for your support!
Every little bit counts!
